The effort is done with the development of child-friendly libraries. After the success of training on the management of libraries in Badung regency, Yayasan Literasi Anak Indonesia again conducted training in the city of Denpasar. The interactive training was attended by 18 participants consisting of principals, class teachers, and librarians from 6 selected schools. During the training, two supervisors from North Denpasar and East Denpasar were also present as active participants. They will be an important part in the sustainability of the program. This training was conducted for three days, 21-23 November 2017.<\/p><p>The training was opened by Drs. I Ketut Sudana as the Head of the Development of Elementary School of Denpasar, representing the Head of Education, Youth and Sports Depatment of Denpasar. Also attending the event was the Head of Library and Archive Department of Denpasar, Drs. I Putu Budiasa, M.Si, to give a speech. The government, through the Department of Education,Youth and Sports and the Department of Library and Archives Service of Denpasar, welcomed the program. The hope is that this program can have a positive impact on children\u2019s education, especially in terms of developing literacy skills of the elementary school students.<\/p><p>This three-day training was followed well by all the participants. They actively participated to understand the topics such as reading habits, the role of each school community in forming a literate school environment, and the characteristics of the child-friendly library itself. After this training, they are committed to immediately fixing the existing library in each of their own schools.
